Porting Guide

Porting Guide

To port an existing number to True IP Solutions, you must first fill out a Letter of Authorization (LOA). This form can be found online at https://loa.trueipsolutions.com/

The first section of the form will ask for the name of your current provider (AT&T, Spectrum, etc.). You will also be asked to upload a recent copy of your invoice from your current provider. The invoice should be scanned into your PC as a PDF file and uploaded via the “Browse File” link. We recommend a bill or invoice within the last 30 days.

You will then be asked for some personal information (name, email, and service address). This information must match the current provider’s records exactly. Any abbreviations on your account in their system should be copied in this section. Next, you will be asked to input the Account Number and pin that is found on the invoice. The Account number can be entered without dashes or spaces and the PIN is optional. We do encourage to input the PIN if it is visible on the invoice.

All phone numbers have a service address associated with them. This must be a physical address and cannot be a PO box. If the address listed on your current invoice is a PO box, please check with your current provider for the correct service address.

The next section of the LOA asks for billing information on your current account. If this information matches the service address, simply click the check box beside “Use service address information as billing address”. This will autofill the information. If invoices are sent to a different physical address or a PO box, please enter that information in this section.

After completing these sections, you will reach an area of the form asking for “Additional Portability Information”. In this section, you will first be asked for the billing telephone number (BTN) on the account with your current provider. If the account only has one phone number, that number will be the BTN. If you are porting from an account with multiple phone numbers, you will need to ask your current provider for the BTN associated with the account.

“Requested Port Date” is the date you’d like the port to complete and the number moved to True IP Solutions. Click the calendar icon and select the desired port date. This date is not guaranteed but will give the porting team something to aim for.

You will then be asked if you will be porting the BTN. Click the dropdown box and select yes or no. You will then be asked if this is a partial port. Partial port means that there are multiple numbers on the account, some of which will remain with the current provider. Click the drop-down box and select yes or no. If you answered yes, you will then be asked to indicate a new BTN for the current provider. Select a number that will remain on the current account and enter it in this field. The Line Type field is used to flag this port as a Business, Fax or Residential line. The last field will ask for additional information. Please enter any relevant information in this field (resident name and new apartment number, name of facility, extension the number should ring to, etc.).

The final section of the LOA asks for “Porting TNs” (telephone numbers). Enter each number you wish to port in a separate field. If you are porting a consecutive block of numbers, you can use ranges in this section (i.e. 9105921000-9105921099).

After completing this section, click “Review and Sign” at the bottom of the page. You will be redirected to another page to review the printed copy of the LOA. If everything looks correct, sign the document electronically at the bottom of the page. Signature should be that of the authorized contact for the account with the current provider.

This completes the LOA portion of the port request process. At this time, our porting team will enter your port request based on the provided information. If we receive any rejections, we will reach out to you and ask for more information. Otherwise, the porting team with send an email notification once we receive firm order confirmation (FOC).
