Starting a new conversation
From the inbox, select New Message. Choose which of your numbers to send From, enter the recipient's phone number or start typing a saved contact's name in To, and write your message. Select Attach image to add a photo, or turn on Schedule for later and pick a date and time to queue the message instead of sending it right away.
Replying in a thread
Open the conversation and type in the message box at the bottom of the thread. The Send from selector next to the message box lets you reply from a different number you are authorized on, if the conversation calls for it. A live counter under the message box shows your character count and how many message segments the text will use. A single text can be up to 1,600 characters.
Sending a photo (MMS)
Select the attach icon next to the message box to add a photo. Confirm the number you are sending from supports MMS; the number switcher shows this for each of your numbers. When a message has both text and a photo, they are delivered as two messages, the text first and then the photo.
Using a canned reply
Select the canned-reply icon (the lightning bolt) next to the message box to open your team's saved templates. Choosing one fills the message box with the template text, which you can edit before sending. Office Managers manage the shared template list; see
Office Manager - Messaging Settings.
True Messaging Plus. Canned replies are a Plus feature. If your organization is on True Messaging Standard, this feature still shows in the portal but is grayed out with the label This feature is included with True Messaging Plus. Contact your TIPS representative to upgrade.

Messaging a whole group
The New Message panel sends to one person. To reach a distribution list, select
Send to a distribution list in the panel, which opens the
Scheduled page; see
Scheduling a Message. Voice calls and emails to a list are sent from the same page; see
Sending Voice and Email Broadcasts.
